Universal Charity

Fees

Plain-language fee policy.

The core rule is simple: charge the platform fee once when external money enters for a giving purpose, and disclose it before confirmation.

Additive fee model

If a donor wants a beneficiary, vault item, or sponsorship category to receive a destination amount, the platform fee is added on top where applicable.

Example: if the destination amount is NGN 10,000 and the fee rate is 10%, the donor cost is NGN 11,000 and the destination remains NGN 10,000.

Wallet top-up

Wallet top-up charges the additive fee at external money entry. The wallet is credited with clean value that can later be used for giving.

Because the fee was already handled at top-up, wallet-funded Direct Giving, vault funding, and sponsorship must not charge another platform fee.

Direct gateway flows

Direct gateway flows bypass the wallet, so the fee is calculated at checkout and shown before payment.

This applies to direct gateway Direct Giving, vault funding, and guest sponsorship during the MVP.

What we will not do

The platform should not use a model where 90% is delivered and 10% is silently deducted from the beneficiary amount.

The platform should not double-charge wallet-funded giving.
